Increase your holiday sales this season by allowing your customers to give the gift of your tours to their family, friends, and maybe even themselves. Since everyone is in the spirit of giving at this time of year, what better way to spread the joy.
With TrekkSoft’s software, there are a few ways that you can incorporate gift giving on your bookings site.
DISCOUNT CODES AND VOUCHERS
Promotional tools like discounts and vouchers can be incorporated into your tours. You have the option of creating a gift code in which you choose the percent discount, maximum number of uses, and assign the specific tours that apply for the discount. Customers can enter discount codes before the payment process takes place to receive a discount on the trip they are booking. Trekksoft also tracks the number of times a gift code is used.
Simply log into your “Admin Desk,” look for “Promotion” on the left navigation, and select “Discounts/Vouchers.” You can add your own Discount Codes here or have the system automagically create them for you. You can limit them to be used with specific tours, or on any tour that the customer so chooses.
Another discount code you can administer is the voucher, which has a “Cash Value” that may be used for any tour. Vouchers and gift codes may be used together. Also located in the “Promotions” navigation element, “Vouchers” can be created with a code and set price. They are not tour specific and have cash value.
A voucher can also be created when you set a price category for a tour. Once you create a tour, you can sell the tour as a voucher. Just click the “sell as a voucher” box when setting your tour price category. Doing this will create a voucher for that tour.
SETTING UP SHOP
Another way to sell vouchers and gift certificates on your site is to set up a shop. You can add a “Shop” page in the “Design and Content” section of the “Admin Desk.” You can also set your “Shop Categories” in this section of your CMS.
You can also go to the left navigation and choose “Inventory” > “Add Ons” to edit these items and to create “Add Ons” that you will sell in your shop. As well as gift certificates and vouchers, you may want to sell tchokies, such as mugs or keychains, or even a t-shirt, with your logo emblazoned on them
You can create an add-on to be associated with a tour or as a standalone item. All of your add-ons that are displayed in the shop will also be purchasable as standalone items without having to first buy a trip. When you create categories, you organize how your items are ordered and displayed in the shop.
MARKETING YOUR HOLIDAY GIFT TOURS
Now that you’ve set up your gifts for the holidays, you’ll want your customers to know about them. Use your newsletter, shop, and social media channels to promote your gifts and get the word out. And for a deeper dive, learn how to break through all the Internet noise by checking out this Google Hangout we did back in February about “How To Market Your Tours Online.” The video features experts Leslie McLellan (Tourism Currents) and Jon Fauver (TrekkSoft) explaining how important it is to have a visible online presence, as well as which channels are the most promising.
Happy Holidays from TrekkSoft.
